I have, for better or for worse, the type of brain that likes to think "outside the box" I'm a problem solver, a lateral thinker, a MacGuyver, a Bodger and prince of the "quick fix" than stays there for 10 years!!

My dad could fix anything .. if he had the parts. He used to be amazed when he'd say something was broken because he didn't have a spring or a catch etc.. I'd look around his workshop, pick things up , feel them, assess their potential and then come up with a solution that made a thing that would perform the same purpose but in a different manner.

He aways said I should have been an engineer.

Unfortunately this means I rarely play a game I enjoy without cheesing it. I see the mechanics and see "loopholes"

Take #Enshrouded for example. A lot of the game is gated off due to you being unable to get there.

However you can do two things, you can mine and you can build. with a pickaxe a sheer cliff is a stone carved stair case waiting to happen !!

You are limited to a set building area PER altar. but you can place an alter at the top of your build extending the height. when you run out of altars? remove the bottom ones and add them the top! there's no gravity for building so your stone tower will just float there!

I now have all the fast travel towers and a base that floats up near the game limit at the highest point on the map. From there I can glide nearly anywhere.

But now I have, invariably , destroyed the fun of the game for myself. All very well saying "Well don't do it!" but I know I can.. That's like saying "Play chess but don't use the bishops!"

Any of my fedi-friend's play #Enshrouded ?

I think it's one of these games where the solo player experience is a bit lacking and it gains a lot from multiplayer server play.

I'm loving the game. Oddly much more than (admittedly quite similar) #Valheim

I've not managed to clear out a hollow hall (Dungeon) yet. Not quite up to MMO levels but better than most survival craft sandbox games. Although some of the enemy AI could do with a little improvement.

The skill tree is fantastic though. Just being able to tune my char to my own hybrid play style.

I'm toying with the idea of creating an Enshrouded Server for multiplayer use.
