Feast came home looking down at the floor. Her #hood was up, casting a shadow over her face.
“What’s up?” her father asked, pulling the hood back to reveal her horns, much smaller than his own.
“Daniel made fun of my horns. And my red.” she was angry, and blushed much stronger than a human.
“And you hid yourself away? Don’t be ashamed of who you are.”
“What? No! I kicked his ass.”
“That’s my girl!”
“But then someone called the police, and they’re looking for a girl with horns.”
“Ah.”

Mr. Whiskers lounged on the catio, enjoying one of the fresh new breezes spring was promising. He dozed as the sun streamed through the wire screen and onto his black fur. A *clonk* startled him awake and he turned to look. There was the orange cat, sitting on the hood of his mother's car. Curious, he turned around and peered down. She hopped off and sauntered over to look up at him high on his shelf.
Huff! He squinted at her, unperturbed.
"His face was concealed by a #hood?" The sheriff glared at the crowd. "NOBODY saw any features that might identify the killer?"
After an awkward pause, an old man muttered, "He was very tall..."
"... and really skinny..." said someone else.
"Nothing else?"
A wee boy piped up. "He had a huge scythe! And glowing eyes!"
The sheriff gulped. "Ah. I'll note that down."
Laboriously, he scribbled, "Natural causes."
