Playing Games · Xboxがゲームに特化した生成AIモデル「Muse」の機能を披露。過去のハードでしか動かない名作ゲームが現行機でプレイ可能に？2月19日（水）、科学雑誌「Nature」およびMicrosoft Research公式ブログにて、ゲームに特化した生成AIモデル「Muse」の成果が発表された。Xboxの情報を発信する公式サイト「Xbox Wire」によると、古いゲームを最新型のデバイスや新たな方法で次世代のプレイヤーが遊べるようにする研究も含まれていることが明らかになっている。（画像はXbox Wireより）「Muse」は、Xbox Game StudiosのNinja Theoryと共同で開発されたワールド&ヒューマンアクションモデル (Ｗorld and Human Action Model: WHAM) を作り出す生成AIモデルだ。AIの研究にはNinja Theoryの手がけるマルチプレイ対応のバトルアリーナゲーム『Bleeding Edge』が使用されており、ゲームの物理演算やプレイヤーのコントローラー操作に対するゲームの反応などをこまやかに把握したという。（画像は『Bleeding Edge』のSteamストアページより）「Muse」のおもな役割としては、旧ハード専用のゲームを最新のデバイスでプレイ可能にすることをはじめ、ゲーム開発の支援ツールなど。今後は、実験的なAI技術を用いた機能に触れることができる「Copilot Labs」にて、誰もがこの研究に参加できる機会が提供される予定だ。なお、Xbox Wireでは「Xbox が提供するAI体験」の今後の展望についても語られている。AIがゲームのプレイヤーとクリエイターの間にある障壁や摩擦を解消する可能性に注目しているとして、共同で作品を作り上げていく機会を提供し、Xboxの開発環境やゲームプレイに付加価値をもたらすことが期待されている。また、この技術革新は、公正性や信頼性、安全性、プライバシーとセキュリティ、包括性、透明性、説明責任と6つのAI原則に基づいている。Introducing Muse, a new kind of generative AI model that lets you play and create.
