I wrote to #Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy about my disapproval of wanton and irresponsible layoffs of federal employees. His response was nothing short of a glowing endorsement of the Convicted-Felon-in-Chief and his minion Musk wreaking havoc. I attach a portion of his reply here. Note that Sen Cassidy and Republicans just passed the FY25 budget resolution which INCREASES spending and RAISES the deficit, all while protecting and extending giant tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, so he is an absolute liar when he says he is concerned about spending and taking steps to fix that problem.

On Tuesday, February 25th, Republicans passed a budget resolution calling for $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and $2 trillion in spending reductions over the next decade.

Notice:

1. The "fiscally-minded" GOP doesn't care about the deficit or the debt, as they continue to push us farther into red ink.

2. Spending cuts are going to come from reductions in benefits and services to average citizens, so the elderly, sick and poor are going to suffer so that Musk and fellow billionaires can continue to enjoy low taxes.

3. Republicans are going to pretend like massive layoffs of federal workers is reaping so much in savings, but in reality, it's going to swell unemployment, damage the middle class, and in the end not result in any real savings.

The lies are obvious and in plain sight!

The randomness of the firings and the callousness of the process is incredibly demoralizing to all Federal workers. I saw this first hand at my office: managers now have to waste time each day deciphering and responding to data calls and justifications, while at rhe same time trying to keep employees calm and focused. Productivity is suffering. It’s a shitty way to treat anyone.
