Bumped into this one last night. Finally the DRM'ed e-books are reimported and are easier to read with the faster KOReader and the Plato reader

As a fellow digital packrat, I relate strongly to this Digital Packrat Manifesto.
I have returned to physical media.
Books that were printed, and records that were pressed.
I keep them at home.
They are mine.

I have bought a ridiculous number of ebooks through Amazon because nothing has had the ease, inventory, etc.
This is no longer the case which is fantastic given Amazon’s impending lock down to make its DRM-encumbered books even less useful. I’m done. No more Kindle books if I can help it. I just bought Chip Huyen’s “AI Engineering” and loaded it into Zotero.
Freedom, Baby.
@Edent Anyhoo, I’ve downloaded the rest of my Kindle books - manually since there weren’t many and de-DRM’d them in #Calibre while I still could.
In even better news after much faffing about and re-installing I finally got the #Obok plugin to do it’s stuff so my 100+ #Kobo books are now in my Calibre library and on my #Kindle
(Because my Kobo Touch is rather elderly and the battery is a bit knackered)

All my ebooks are now available on a pay-what-you-can model on itch. And as usual, #NoDRM
Please check them out and review at:
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is coming DRM-free to GOG this Spring! Yay!
I'm on the GOG mailing list - they alert you about deals and free game giveaways there. After I just redeemed a giveaway, they confirm what's in this image. I love it. Offline play. No DRM. Safeguards and rollbacks.
GOG has also been making promising steps for game preservation lately with their 'Preservation Program' for 'Good Old Games' that currently includes 92 games, and they're adding more (see https://www.yahoo.com/tech/gog-launches-preservation-program-porting-182458795.html).
GOG is doing things RIGHT.
