I had great marks for my observed coaching session today! My instructor had nothing but praise, and believe me, I soaked it up. I held the space, I gently welcomed deeper reflection, I reflected back and helped encourage new awareness.

Even better, because the observed session went so well, I was able to chat a bit about coaching with my instructor, who is this beautifully warm, caring person. I loved getting to know her a bit better and connect on a human, and not merely professional level.

She's taught me so much, and in the process, I've learned so much about myself, how to be in the world, what I want, and how to relate to other people. I cherish these elements amidst the objective chaos.

So, #Presence (2024)

An interesting, if somewhat simplistic story with cinematography that felt like Paranormal Activity placed purely in the disembodied 1st person instead of through a viewfinder

Overall, I liked it but it really isn't much of anything & not as experimental as I believe it was intended to be

A couple of almost but not quite spoiler takeaways is that a certain character seems to have a Jocasta complex & once again, we can see why the bear wins the popular vote

How can you be more present in your life and work?

Presence is not something you can “work" for, not directly anyway. Presence is innate.

Presence happens when you release all that blocks or obsures it in yourself. Like water will always flow when you unplug the dam (when it is not frozen, of course 😆 but that's a different metaphor).

I watched Steven Soderbergh's new haunted house movie 'Presence' last night. It was nice to see a low-key horror movie grounded in mystery and characterization, as opposed to the glut of hyper-trauma-porn that's being passed off as horror these days. It's more akin to the 1963 movie The Haunting than anything else.

It also didn't feel as gimmicky as the conceit behind the film made it out to be (filmed from the perspective of the Presence). A solid little ghost story.
