I don't think I've ever seen a #HyperCard stack with nearly 4000 cards in it before! Amazing that it works as well as it does!

Deater's take on the first parts of the Atari XL/XE "Rewind 2" demo on the enhanced 128K Apple IIe with Mockingboard.
Happy 49th anniversary, Apple!
The Dialup Café's marchintosh globaltalk node says goodnight for another year! thank you to all of the goofballs that dumped calling cards in the shared folder.
i sadly was able contribute very little to the festivities this year due to a chain of random illnesses. next year i am very much looking forward to having a lot more fun!
and of course, the globaltalk kiki at https://globaltalk.network will remain up permanently for your contributions. the editing password is marchintosh2025, and welcomes your new pages and macintosh knowledge.
It looks like LocalTalk Bridge stopped working and my ImageWriter dropped off the network some time earlier today. I got the AsanteTalk working again by replacing the power supply and the printer is back online, hopefully it stays up longer now
On the day after March, the lovely 3D printed boot floppy icons I won from @pierrenick arrived! This is definitely going on my bag, thank you so much!! That is some surely convincing tractor-feed paper!
@tomjennings i had no idea he wrote this manual. it is one of the best technical manuals i’ve ever used - and recently!
rest in peace scot. your contributions won’t be forgotten in this house.
Tried the o-rings on the color cart - it worked great for 2 pages of self-test but on a real print it flaked out
Trying to print a banner using Print Shop Pro Deluxe 1.1.1 and MacPalette II but having issues...
No matter if I choose portrait or landscape or no gaps between pages in Page Setup, it prints each page in portrait, meaning it's not actually a continuous banner.
Using the standard ImageWriter driver it works fine, but half the graphics are missing due to the lack of proper half-toning (and I won't be able to do color when I get that ribbon fixed)
Has anyone gotten this working?
so im running my listing generator on this collection https://archive.org/details/Apple_Developer_Discs_1989-2009 but it turns out i cant get into a lot of these disk images
many of them are .mdf (why..) so im using mdf2iso and then hdiutil. sometimes mdf2iso says "unknown format", other times that works but hdiutil says "no mountable file systems" and im not really sure what to do with that.
guess i have to try daemon tools next. was hoping to avoid it since it needs a kernel extension #MARCHintosh #VintageApple
it's 2025. how have we not yet reverse-engineered the After Dark module engine?

as a little #marchintosh gift to my LC 475, i just received an After Dark module i've lusted for since i was 13 years old: More After Dark
when i was in junior high school, the biggest losers of our grade - including myself - all packed into a tiny office in the school band room during our lunch hour
the "band office" had a Macintosh LC II on the desk, which was *supposed* to be for students learning how to use Band-in-a-Box MIDI software. in the six years i spent in that school, i never once saw a student use it
what we were after was, instead, Lunatic Fringe: a thoughtful riff on Continuum (or perhaps, Sinistar) that would load randomly using the After Dark randomizer module.
it took 30+ years for me to figure out that Lunatic Fringe wasn't a standard AD module and came in its own pack with 24 other awesome modules.
it finally arrived today
TAM alert! Someone needs to buy this, get it working, and connect it to #GlobalTalk before #MARCHintosh ends! #VintageApple #VintageMac #RetroMac #RetroComputing https://shopgoodwill.com/item/225304640
A fascinating new look at what is basically an Apple II Mockingboard soundcard...for the PC...sold by Mindscape.

“Apple’s long-lost hidden recovery partition from 1994 has been found”
This is a fascinating deep-dive into a classic recovery partition that existed nearly twenty years before Apple stopped shipping physical install media. awesome: Beastie/Leon McNeill just open sourced their Ultima III colour Macintosh port, all written in Think C!
This is the "Lairware" version that was sold at lairware.com, and received many updates over the years - eventually gaining OS X/Intel 32-bit support. The source appears to be an Xcode project with a mix of think C and cocoa.
great job, Leon!
I recommend using Tribosys for lubricating keyswitches as well as the key stems. With the keyboard apart, I was able to easily apply the lubricant using a thin brush. #retrobrite #retrocomputing #appleextendedkeyboard #vintageapple #MARCHintosh
