The law (the equal employment opportunity act) is to protect people of any marginalized groups who has the adequate skills and qualifications being hired regardless their color, background, gender, sexual orientation, physical or mental disabilities, illness, etc.

If you think people of marginalized groups means they are LESS capable of achieving something or LESS qualified, then you are discriminatory against them and promoting ableism.

Suggesting that hiring under diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives automatically means lowering standards wrongly assumes that marginalized groups are inherently less capable, which is both discriminatory and ableist. DEI efforts do not remove qualifications; they ensure that opportunities are accessible to all who meet the required standards.

Everyone should be evaluated based on their skills and competencies, not assumptions about their identity or abilities.
