I've really been enjoying this dramatisation of Josh at the Crown of Command's Heroquest games.

Josh's beautiful miniatures and Owen's evocative narration are a wonderful combinations.

Strongly recommend giving a it a quick watch.

Anoche tocó doble sesión de #heroquest original dirigida por @Camemberratona . Vacilamos un poco al Lord Brujo y recorrimos la mazmorra mientras él nos seguía a velocidad de placa tectónica (y casi nos pilla). Después fuimos a otra mazmorra a encontrar la única Espada que puede matarle. Nos queda poco para acabar esta Campaña.

There is a community divide between the name of the evil wizard in #HeroQuest. It's either "Morcar" or "Zargon" depending on your country.

I undercut the seriousness of this decades-ongoing debate by amalgamating the two into the much-less sinister "Morgan".

Fifth quest completed! This one was too easy, although the mage almost died when opening a trapped chest! And they were lucky, killed the gargoyle in one hit! (Dwarf has a 4D Battle Axe)

Here we go again! Session 5 (?) of The Eleven Lights. Slight spoiler alert: the PCs have made an alliance (heroquesting Orlanth Gathers the Fyrd as a this-world-heroquest) with Two Pine and have just crushed Emerald Sword in a battle. But a higher power now demands peace...

Meet Brick the Barbarian! She's my new HeroQuest character who came into play when my former barbarian died after 14 years in the game. (The final battle was pretty epic.)

We have this tradition to try to guess which square the quest will start from, and Brick got to a good start as she guessed right. :)

I have a challenge. The long and short of it is that I'm digging into my modern-era reprints of HeroQuest and I want some fairly-specific music to accompany me as I tinker (my homebrewing tendencies are out of control).

I'm looking for pieces that convey a sort of uhh, VHS anachronism within their fantasy? OG heroquest is from the eighties and I'm trying to bring some of that colorful pulpiness into the soundscape while I hyperfixate.

Electronics are fine, even welcome, as long as they aren't intrusive. Lyrics are less welcome but I won't write them off entirely. Vocalization in general is okay, if it isn't overbearing.

Take the thoughtful, foreboding themes of, for instance, the MOON soundtrack, yet painted with a medieval fantasy palette.

The Lunacid soundtrack is a decent example too, though it tends to lean more ambient than I'm looking for at the moment.

Ataraxia's "The Unexplained" album is a neat piece of electro-occult weirdness that almost fits here, and I'll sometimes put it on in a "punchier" mood, but I'm jotting it down for these purposes as a good example of "too much energy."

Kind of a weird ask but I've never seen as many weirdos in one place as on the fediverse, so I'm hoping y'all can help. Gonna flood the bottom here with tags hoping to catch the attention of some rare nerds. Boosts are appreciated too.
