I uploaded my insect photos from this month from our house to #iNaturalist, and got this new moth species for our property. It's the gold-flecked Dryadaula, *Dryadaula pactolia*, endemic to NZ.

Wikipedia tells me that it's got to Europe and the "larva feeds on the fungus Zasmidium cellare found in wine cellars and breweries."

No, we don't have a wine cellar or a brewery in our house. Maybe one of the neighbours? I bet they eat other things too.

I've been seeing both of these species popping up on iNat back in Louisiana, and it's got me daydreaming about spring ephemerals and wondering what I might find and learn here in Oregon as we have our warmest day of the year so far.

I wrote this last year about a little plant and a little butterfly & being surprised by the little things that can just pop up if we let them be here and take the time to appreciate them when they are.
