My #SailfishOS app #BitSailor (a native #BitWarden client) just git an update which speeds up most operations significantly if the experimental local api is enabled.

Two USB-C ports on the Liberux NEXX: more possibilities, more freedom.
The #LiberuxNEXX will have two USB-C ports: one at the bottom and one on the side. Why?
Extended connectivity: charge while using a peripheral or connect multiple accessories.
Auxiliary add-ons: imagine a dock, an extra battery, or a physical keyboard.
Flexibility: no matter how you use it, you'll always have an accessible port.
What would you like to connect to the NEXX? We're listening!
The "Mobile Linux"/"Linux Mobile" discussion feels like a rehash of the "Open Source" terminology discussion in the 90's that led to more diverse terms (e.g. FLOSS).
I propose:
#linuxmobile / #mobilelinux as umbrella terms for all efforts at bringing the standard Linux ecosystem to any mobile device (e.g. also tablets)
#linuxphone for a phone running standard Linux ecosystem parts *predominantly* (e.g. allows Android kernels and Halium)
#FLOSSPhone for a phone with no proprietary parts
Ob Europa schon an einem eigenen Smartphone OS arbeitet um Android und iOS abzulösen?
With #Apple refusing to backdoor advanced encryption (good) in the UK and instead withdraw access to the tool for those in the UK rather than legally fight it (bad), it opens up interesting other implications for countries with well known histories of anti-encryption like Australia and the US.
Time to test how accessible it is to backup files and photos on a #Linux phone using #postmarketOS and #NextCloud and do a blog write up I guess?
#LinuxPhone
@Setok @tuomas_h It was better in the early days of Android, but now it is #enshittified too.
What we really need is #LinuxPhone or #SailFish or other #OpenSource phone OS.
I really need to spend more time investigating, but it's a rabbit hole I really don't have time for right now.
Why our choice of #Debian as the base distro for #LiberuxOS on Liberux NEXX? Stability → Predictable release cycles and thoroughly tested packages ensure a solid, reliable system.
Freedom → Strong commitment to #FOSS , giving back control to users, and a governance structure that safeguards independency.
Long-standing → 30+ years of active development with long-term support.
Widely regarded → The basis for many major distros, backed by a strong community.
I ordered the @furilabs FLX1 Linux phone.
A nice review of the @furilabs FLX1 Linux phone — from someone in Western Canada.
(I live in Western Canada.)
I am considering getting the @furilabs FLX1 Linux phone.
https://furilabs.com/shop/flx1/
Apparently, FuriLabs had a presence at FOSDEM 2025. (I was there, too.) And, I could have taken a look at the phone there.
I'm waiting for a #linuxphone that comes with a universal software defined radio peripherial instead of a closed LTE/4G modem and the calling, texting and networking is just realized on the SDR module.
What does mobile app development for the Furilabs FLX1 look like?
Is it just a regular GNOME application? Something else?
Are there any specific APIs?

We can keep discussing about kernels, drivers and which are "true" Linux phones and which are not, or we can focus on getting as many people on the FOSS phone ecosystem and improving the rather sorry state of so many applications, and I would VERY much prefer the latter
I can't wait to get a Linux phone someday
