To users of the postmarketOS Matrix and IRC channels:

Looks like Matrix is shutting down the IRC bridge to OFTC that we are currently using soon. We are considering whether to selfhost / possibly use an alternative public bridge instance / maaaybe it is not worth keeping a bridge around at all (meaning that we would move to matrix only)

Is it important to you that we keep a Matrix <> IRC bridge around?

Does anybody you know in the FOSS world is involved in some Foundation or Association for a project in Belgium or The Netherlands. I'd love to hear your experience! At @postmarketOS we are looking into starting a legal entity, and we are still pondering pros and cons of different options (gitlab.postmarketos.org/postma) We already got lots of feedback from German e.V. and a Spanish Foundation is likely a no-go.

Big thank you to @craftyguy of @postmarketOS - had a nice time talking about all things about app ecosystem, postmarketos, and building community. Grateful that he installed a new version of postmarketos and the camera works!!! (OnePlus 6t) that was exciting. Still trying to figure out why the sim card doesn't work, but it is because there is some kind of lock.

the new @postmarketOS website is so well done!

The whole organisation and presentation of the project, I especially like this page: postmarketos.org/team/

I think at #gnome the same is needed, #postmarketOS can be a really good guide on how to do it right. The new website is a good start, but if I am honest its a very first iteration, and emphasis was mostly on refactoring only the design I think.

I thought only FairPhone made repairable phones, but HMD does too. They don't do everything that makes FairPhone great, but they're definitely worth consideration.

One problem: only 3 years of updates. 7 years of part availability can't fix that.

Maybe @LineageOS, @e_mydata, or @postmarketOS will support it.
