A friend told me she had planned to get a classic pork pie hat for summer, which brought me to a short wikipedia trip, which led me further to a listicle on "Light academia films and shows on netflix", because someone wore a hat like that in a movie that was described as "light-academia" style, referencing the article.

As you probably know already, I got #adhd and too much work on my hands at the moment, so let me react to the listicle right now and get some good chemicals out of it.
1. #Bridgerton is not "academia", it's porn for people who don't like to admit they watch porn. Great show, enjoyed immensly, but not #lightacademia at all.
2. "Pride and Prejudice" is not "academia" and don't start me on 2005 adaptation, because I want to sit Keira Knightley in an armchair and explain to her why wearing at least short stays is essential for a Regency silhouette.
3. "Gilmore girls". OK, I admit with reluctance that it is s a modern version of light academia.
4. I refuse to acknowledge the existence of the 2022 version of "Persuasion". Plus, it's not academia.
5. "Derry girls" is not light. Wonderful, insightful, funny, but there's nothing light about it and the fact they are wearing non-Wednesday school uniform doesn't make it light.
6. "Anne with an E", OK, it's kind of Edwardian, so let's give this one a pass.
7. "To all the boys..." too modern for light academia.
8. "Sex ed" see 7.
9. "Call me by your name" at last! Something! Yes! Books, romance, subdued elegance!
10. "Heartstopper" the fact that it takes place at school AND is lighthearted and sweet doesn't make it light academia.
Thanks for coming to my TED-talk ;)
