A violet blossom.

A macro photo of a single viola odorata blossom, the wood violet. It ranges from purple to a lavender color on various parts of the petals. The view is looking at the flower from the side. It is surrounded by mostly out of focus greenery. The stem is in the shadow of the blossoms.

A honey bee on a viola odorata, violet.

A cropped macro photo of a honey bee on a purple wood violet, which I suppose is violet color and not purple.. The bee is facing upward, it's left side to the camera, it is a light colored bee and looks furry. The bridge of it's nose, the top of it's head, parts of the antennae, and part of a leg are in focus.

It's not terrible but it flew off before I realized I had the aperture wide open and a depth of field of a few mm and was just snapping off shots while it was there with a little handheld closer farther focusing on the ground. The fun of old manual lenses on anything digital.

Some guerilla pickwick crocuses close to the road. Sneaky walkers I suspect but it could be squirrels. I did plant some of these types last fall but they aren't blooming in that location yet.

The first daffodil to bloom in one of the circles and some violets.

A photo showing a single yellow daffodil flower. The blossom is fresh and not perked up. It is part of a ring of bulbs that was planted last fall around a post/pole. There are scattered violets in the lawn around it with some birch and other leaves.
