It reminded me of how he sat in the dining room watched on TV as his #MAGA #sturmabteilung violently assaulted the Capitol Police & congress people ran & hid in fear of their lives on #Jan6.

Kelley’s attorney has argued that Trump’s mass pardon of Jan. 6 *rioters* should apply to Kelley’s #conviction in the #murder plot because it “directly relates to the events at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.”
Prosecutors wrote that Kelley "devised a plan to murder federal, state, & local law enforcement in East Tennessee."
The #DOJ said evidence at trial showed Kelley developed a “kill list” of #FBI special agents & others who investigated his conduct. “Every hit has to hurt,” Kelley said to a co-conspirator…. “Every hit has to hurt.”

…even before #Trump took office, a #DOGE team that included #ElonMusk’s top aides — who have links to his companies but little to no #government or #political experience — was planning actions far beyond DOGE’s original remit of reducing the government’s size & spending.
The weeks leading up to the inauguration, DOGE positioned & envisioned itself as the executor & #enforcer of Trump’s #ExecutiveOrder against #diversity.
Current & former #DOJ officials praised those who had already stepped down, saying they sacrificed their livelihoods & dream jobs [& quite likely their physical safety; defying a #Trump demand pisses ofc his #sturmabteilung] because they were put in an impossible position — told to do something they considered #immoral, #illegal or #unethical.
#EmilBove represented #Trump throughout his #criminal #ElectionInterference case & his #ClassifiedDocuments case & has since ordered retaliatory actions against those who worked on the other side of those cases. #EdMartin represented a defendant in a #Jan6 case, personally attended the Capitol riot on Jan 6 & has expressed support for the #OathKeepers militia group. At Trump’s direction, he has now dismissed all of those cases….
Proud Boys Lose Control of Their Name to a Black Church They Vandalized - The New York Times
Under a ruling by a Washington judge on Monday, the infamous far-right group was stripped of control over the trademark “Proud Boys” and was barred from selling any merchandise with either its name or its symbols without the consent of a Black church in Washington that its members vandalized. In June 2023, the church won a $2.8 million default judgment against the Proud Boys after the organization’s former leader, Enrique Tarrio, and several of his subordinates attacked it in a night of violence after a pro-Trump rally in December 2020.

In a lengthy statement, Mr. Tarrio said the church should have its nonprofit status revoked and Judge Bosier should be impeached. “Their actions are a betrayal of justice,” he wrote, adding, “I hold in contempt any motions, judgments and orders issued against me.”

The church called the Proud Boys’ actions “acts of terror” in its lawsuit and said they had been meant “to intimidate the church and silence its support for racial justice.” A judge agreed, calling the Proud Boys’ conduct “hateful and overtly racist.”

One lingering effect of that episode was that it turned the Proud Boys against the police after years of having troublingly close relationships with officers across the country. Another was that Mr. Bertino eventually became a government witness and testified against his compatriots at the trial of Mr. Tarrio and his co-defendants.
