I always loved “Plebs”, and if you haven’t seen the show you’re really missing a treat. I can only describe it as “Blackadder” set in Ancient Rome. Grumio (the slave) is a Roman Baldrick, and uses a crazy kind of logic which occasionally makes sense. When a neighbour’s cat swallows his lottery ticket, Grumio discusses the chance of winning with his master Marcus. The 50/50 line never fails to make me laugh!!

Had a weird little #dream last night where I had to explain the World Wars to #AdamAdamant (from the 1960s #UKTV show where an Edwardian adventurer is defrosted in the Swinging Sixties). His upper-class 1902 sensibilities were genteelly appalled by what had happened while he was away.

Can't say too much at present but during the early summer my friend, Felipe and I took part in the BBC series "Amanda and Alan's Spanish Job". This TV series will be screened weekly from 24th January. It features UK celebrities, Amanda Holden and Alan Carr, restoring an old property in the town of Moclin, just north of Granada.

More details will be released about our part in this series in due course.

How you know the wave is breaking:

Tonight on mainstream commercial TV, exactly the same TV ads for non-tech home products (heating, etc) have chirpy-comfort voiceovers saying ‘Now powered by AI!’ that 18 months ago were saying, ‘Now powered by Blockchain!’

(UK TV, Channel 4/ITV, mass audience, drama/documentary)

OMG if only THIS GUY would come over to Mastodon: Rodney Marshall, son of British TV writer Roger Marshall (The Avengers, The Sweeney, among many others). What a terrific feed (at least if your interest is 1960s-1970s UK action/adventure/espionage) that's one of the Good Things I will miss from The Bird Site.
