"'Why didn’t I know this?' said Stinchfield, who later served as president of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases. 'The No. 1 thing I heard was regret — like, "Why didn’t I vaccinate?'"
Those stories have yet to be publicly shared by parents of children sickened in the West Texas outbreak."
"She recalls going 'mosque to mosque to mosque' during a 2017 measles outbreak in Minnesota to listen to the Somali community’s concerns and educate local religious leaders about the danger of measles and the safety of the MMR vaccine.
She spoke to nearly every parent of the children hospitalized in the outbreak. 'Many of them, the parents, were like, "Oh, my God, I never knew it would be this bad.'"
"Out of every 1,000 cases, about 200 children require hospitalization, 50 develop pneumonia, one experiences brain swelling that can result in disability, and one to three will die. …
Patsy Stinchfield, a pediatric nurse practitioner, has seen how the uncontrolled spread of an illness can change parents’ minds — with the right messaging."
"The actual number of people who have fallen ill has been underreported, officials say, because of inadequate testing. For most children, measles brings a fever and an itchy rash, but it can lead to serious complications, including pneumonia, seizures and brain damage."
~ Brandy Zadrozny
"There were 285 cases of measles reported in the US last year. So far, there have been 378 confirmed cases in the first few months of 2025."

Why higher measles vaccination coverage matters so much now: cases are preventable, doctors say (because children will become VERY sick and die, when it is possible to avoid this suffering and death. https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/measles-vaccine-backslide-1.7490030 #measles #vaccination #Publichealth
So the French health authorities jumped to it and are rolling out the preventative treatments.
And, of course the anti-vax lunatics are already spreading their vicious lies. They actually *want* people to die. Like that couple in Texas who killed their daughter through not vaccinating for MMR.
Absolutely shit human beings.
#Vaccination
There's an epidemic of #Chikungunya on La Réunion - the first in 8 years, apparently - and 2 people have already died.
Fortunately, there is now a vaccine that's been tried, tested and approved in the US, Canada and the EU. It's an attenuated virus, so there are people it's not suitable for and the side effects, if any, are generally resemble a very mild case of the disease, but don't kill or disable you.

Measles is so infectious that when under-vaccinated individuals mingle, they'll always be at risk. That's why public health officials across Canada stress the importance of high vaccination rates amid backsliding and growing outbreaks.

No, having measles does NOT protect anyone from cancer in the future. This is rank disinformation of the stupidest sort possible, and anyone peddling it needs to be held responsible for doing so and for believing arrant toxic nonsense that any informed and halfway intelligent person knows better than to believe.

They are lucky to be alive to create children that they can kill.
They must have been vaxed as a child in order to carry out such cruelty.
