#Harris had a plan for #caregivers: "The intensity of caregiving would require her to stop work as a teacher, but if she stopped that paid work, she’d be unable to buy food & pay for housing. W/o a job, she could receive Medicaid, but @ 48 & willing & able to work, she’d be among those called out as not fit for Medicaid. Currently, she receives health insurance through the expansion of #Medicaid via the #ACA — which some propose cutting."

STAT · Cuts to Medicaid will set the U.S. back 35 years in dementia care“We’re the richest country in the world. It’s callous to say it’s costing too much for poor disabled people to do chair yoga.”

Even four cups a day! The surprising health benefits of coffee.

Coffee can be good for you, and not just for waking you up. A series of recent scientific studies show drinking a good brew can prevent heart disease and dementia and help you live longer.

But the roast, preparation, and timing are all important.

White House inadvertently texted top-secret Yemen war plans to journalist in 'Signal chat' briefing

"Among those aghast at the breach was the Democratic representative Pat Ryan, an army veteran who sits on the House armed services committee who described it using the second world war-era epithet “Fubar” – meaning “fucked up beyond all recognition”."

Dementia connected to gut bacteria, ⭕Vitamin B2 and B7 is the new discovery

About 10 years BEFORE some folks get dementia, they have early signs (see article 👇🏼) and or before this time you need to be taking B Vitamins

This will help slow down (or stop?) the onset of full dementia.

It was an honor to be a panelist on #Dementia Stories for Impact: Dementia Life Course and Storytelling, sponsored by the #AlzheimersAssociation and #UCSF. My fellow authors and colleagues talked about the importance of #narrative, #empathy, #brain health, and Dr. Bruce Miller and I talked about our work together on my #memoir, Finding the Right Words: A Story of Literature, Grief, and the Brain. I hope you find this discussion helpful.
