I always gush about @ZLabe and his account, because for one thing it makes the data he works with more accessible (via #ActivityPub), but secondly because the #infographics he stares are very informative - and consistent.

Are there any other #science, #edutainment and #infographic accounts on the #fediverse that has similar consistent and qualify of posts? Think content that is fairly easily digestible during a scroll.

We're looking for the accounts that #TeachTheFediverse.

I had an idea for an infographic like this for new users to #pixelfed who might be familiar with other social media platforms (!nstagram, Tw!tter) etc. I see people post all the time with zero tags for example. I was not aware of some of this as a new user myself and maybe it would be helpful to share things like this.

This is me just slapping together some bullet points in Canva. If there's already some sort of guide for pixelfed I hope we can share it more. Or is this already very obvious to everyone here? Could you make a better version of this?

There is no AI algorithm curating it. Likes Don’t SHARE - Likes tell the creator you liked their content and is visible on the post. But there is no algorithm that drives content to others’ Feeds based on likes. Repost/Share - Sharing / Reposting / Retweeting actually sends that post to the Feeds of other users. It also means if they happened to miss it before they might see it now FOLLOW Accounts - Following accounts allows you to see their posts on your Home Feed USE #TAGS - PixelFed lacks full text search or an algorithm-based search. Tagging is a way for new people to find your posts

You have probably seen this #viral #infographic on #eu #digitalsovereignty by #reddit user u/lukakopajtic. It was viral but not very accurate 😅 recommending #bluesky and #firefox as "EU alternatives"? How? Anyway, he just updated the infographic, and it's much, much better! Most issues have been corrected. I think there is still a couple of issues I disagree with: 1) recommending #matrix instead of #jabber #xmpp 2) recommending #lineageos instead of #grapheneos (but OK, I can understand this if the focus is on self-sovereignty only), 3) recommending #droidify instead of #accrescent (but, even here, I can understand if the goal is to replace #playstore ), and 4) recommending #thunderbird as a comparison to #gmail (nothing wrong with Thunderbird, but that's an email client, not a Gmail-like suite provider, I would have rather recommended #mailfence or #mailbox ). Kudos for the initiative though, the intentions are good!
