Attn: #T1D folks.

Have you any experience with #fiasp, particularly as used in an #insulin pump? How does it compare to #humalog or #novolog?

I take #novolog via my #tandem #tslim, but I’m finding it increasingly difficult to control my BG as my #gastroparesis grows more erratic over time. I’m wondering if a faster-acting insulin might help, allowing me to NOT bolus until I see a BG rise when my stupid stomach decides to start digesting (sometimes immediately, sometimes 4 hours later).

Budget sensible.
Merci d'avance.

So Control-IQ+ has 2 main changes that, not only is discussed in press releases, but is part of the update training.

First, the ability to set a temporary basal rate while CIQ is enabled. Previously, this required turning off CIQ.

Second, the ability to do an extended bolus up to 8 hours instead of just 2 hours.

But there were also notes of nebulous “algorithm adjustments" with no details. I think I've run into it being a bit more aggressive to basal rates in response to BG climbing. My BG tends to climb many hours after having some wine (alcohol effect on liver, etc), usually while I'm sleeping, and sleep mode doesn't allow automated correction bolus, so only allows basal rate adjustments. I noticed in the visualization that basal rates looked more aggressive and the high BG didn't last nearly as long as it had in the past.

#Verkehrswende, #Radverkehr, #Tandem, #Velomobil,

So I’ve had this arm insulin pump site for bit over a day. Yesterday, it got around 5 door frame knocks. Today, just 1.

Last night I had 1 CGM disconnect. I shifted position and that didn’t happen again.

Absorption has been good. I had to switch to a lower profile, in fact. I think my last site was a tad leaky or absorption was bad, though.

I’ve enjoyed not having to fiddle with it to go to the damn bathroom.

I think I like this more than expected. Might have to order more pump patch sleeves and leave this set in my orders for now.

I’m still going to be using leg sites. This is more a case of having more places to use to allow other places longer periods of healing before I use them again. But the short set with pump patch sleeve might help alleviate some stress on the legs as well.

This actually makes me look forward, even more, for the Mobi Tubeless patches.

The first drawback I'm finding: The ticking when it does its thing is now much closer to my head, so it's much more audible.

I have another site I want to try with the short set that is more in line with my normal sites. That should keep the ticking away a bit.

But I have a few days of this for now.
