I understand that @HailsandAles has dubbed it and at first I wasn't sure if I was going to listen to much metal today, but who am I kidding.

A KILLER grind (powerviolence?) band I discovered thanks to @Easydor that I've had on all afternoon (seriously, EVERYTHING they've done is GREAT) that I won't even save for a GrindayFriday is the super weird ONA SNOP from Leeds.

If this doesn't give you whiplash, I don't know what will.

Was actually able to grab a couple things for today. Wanted to support some small artists- purchases today go towards helping with the California wildfires, too.

Here's what I grabbed. Next couple years gonna be INTENSE for art. Angry/hopeful stuff:

First, I grabbed the WHOLE (small) discography of a killer band I just discovered-- Ohio antifascist punks NO HOLDS BARRED. ALL their stuff is great. This is the EP that hooked me. Check their other stuff- love the other album covers.
noholdsbarred-antifascistarmy.

I've talked about Brighton, UK's PLASTICS on here before, and today I grabbed their promo from last year,
plasticsrockers.bandcamp.com/a.

Finally, I grabbed the EXCELLENT 'What's Write EP' from a few years back, when rapper Gorgeous Jefe was still known as Malick McFly & got together with Rey, Nat Gem etc as Tuscon, AZ collective TWELVOTWO to put this out in 2021.

Happy Halloween, freaks. This week's is perfect for today.

GRAVE GHOUL is from the UK and they just put out this 'The House of Dead Flesh' EP. It's badass. Gross and growly and gruesome. It starts out with a dude being interviewed about maniacs who see the Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Sets the tone. Great cover art, too. Won't disappoint fans of crazy horror death metal.

You need wake up music for a Monday. Today's wake up music is Gold Cup. Yet another band from Manchester, this is fuzzy garage psych punk something or other.

Gold Cup put out 5 song EP 'Beyond a Joke' on October 8. It's catchy and punchy and weird. Highly recommend.

Bonus as I just discovered these guys and they're incredible.

Easily one of the best death metal EPs I've heard from this year, behold 'Dead Flesh Architect' by Manchester's ACID VAT. I kept looking up from my work because of how badass this is. It RIPS. The drums, the vocals, the guitar work, the songwriting, the dynamics, ALL of it.

Acid Vat is a death metal band to WATCH.

Now And Then - MonaLisa Twins (The Beatles Cover)
MonaLisa Twins

This great Beatles cover currently is neither available at Bandcamp nor at Amazon.com. So, enjoy it here at YouTube. The MonaLisa Twins are true Beatlemaniacs.

I first learned of the MonaLisa Twins and I first learned of this video, "Now and Then," from my college roommate, Gary Olsen.

Posted under Hashtag MonaLisaTwins because these two also do original music.

ROD ARGENT UPDATE
Mastodon Post

The main updates on Rod Argent of The Zombies and the band, Argent, so far, are mostly coming from social media. They agree that Argent has decided to retire from touring. It is my hope more extensive reporting will follow. This seems to be all we have at the moment.

The Zombies has been one of my favorite rock bands since "She's Not There." I compile various artists music collections; and the one I am working on right now ends with The Zombies' "You've Really Got a Hold On Me," which is actually a medley with Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home to Me."

Rod Argent's "Time of the Season," by The Zombies, has long been a favorite on paranormal radio. Can't talk much about The Zombies without naming the masterpiece, "Summertime."

The Zombies is one of my all-time favorite rock bands. Much as I love all the members, with special regard to Colin Blunstone, there would be no Zombies without Rod Argent. Get well, buddy!

THE MONALISA TWINS
"FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH"

My music collection includes several versions - usually faithful covers - of Buffalo Springfield's classic "For What It's Worth." This performance by the MonaLisa Twins is my favorite of them. The Twins are REALLY good at what they do.

I recall really liking "Come Home" when it was new. There is no telling, either way, how well remembered it is today.

Garage rock legend Nancy Neon once wrote a highly flattering review of a late Mike Smith concert. I think she got it right. Smith was the group's lead singer and keyboard player.

HELP! SOUNDTRACK
"THE BITTER END / YOU CAN'T DO THAT"

The Bitter End - You Can't Do That by 「Help!」

youtube.com/watch?v=PDvPA9tSgx

Most Beatles reissues have been UK versions. So, it seems possible that a lot of music fans may not have heard of this track from the United States "Help!" release. The US version had a few instrumentals. "The Bitter End - You Can't Do That" is the only one that, to me, seems especially interesting.

The Love Triangle are a band from the UK. They have this album from 2013 called 'Clever Clever' and I've been listening to it on and off for a couple weeks, trying to figure out what it reminds me of. Can't find out a ton about them other than it's the singer of the Shitty Limits.

Today, it hit me. They sound like Herman's Hermits, a little more punk. That is, catchy songs, fun. Man, I love Herman's Hermits. So naturally, The Love Triangle is fantastic. Someone else said they're kinda like Buzzcocks. I like these guys BETTER than the Buzzcocks. Check em out, see if you agree.

The Beach Boys did this with five voices and as many and diverse instruments as they wanted, while the MonaLisa Twins performed the same arrangement with two voices and two guitars. I admire the MLTs big time for pulling this off so well.

I mentioned Plastics briefly a week ago on a post with a couple other female-fronted bands, but I figured since it's , they deserve a dedicated shout out.

This is punk rock how it should be done. A SOLID album that sounds amazing- I've listened to it a lot this year. Plastics are from Brighton and they put out 'Plastic World' three years ago. Just 6 tracks, fast-paced, fierce and ferocious.

Hope they do more- this is so killer.
