I understand that @HailsandAles has dubbed it and at first I wasn't sure if I was going to listen to much metal today, but who am I kidding.

A KILLER grind (powerviolence?) band I discovered thanks to @Easydor that I've had on all afternoon (seriously, EVERYTHING they've done is GREAT) that I won't even save for a GrindayFriday is the super weird ONA SNOP from Leeds.

If this doesn't give you whiplash, I don't know what will.

For this week, an LP that just came out in 2019, but one that should probably already be considered a grind classic. Ichikawa, Japan's FAILED TREATMENT don't fuck around when it comes to the gross and depraved. Lots of that here. Guitars have a really great, truly grindy sound. Very riffy. Roaring, bellowed vocals. Love that in grind. And the DRUMS.

Here's Failed Treatment's 'Spread of Infection' LP from 2019. failedtreatment.bandcamp.com/a

Reading some news of the world now and then gives me all the anger and disgust I need to write plenty of lyrics, my notebook is filli.g up quickly.
I had a song about that : "What a great time for grindcore, we'll never run out of lyrics".

By the way our mini-cd is on full streaming here with lyrics and comments

For this , something that came out just five years ago but should already be considered a classic. Seattle, Washington's CAUSTIC WOUND gave us this brutal, crushing riffy LP 'Death Posture' in 2020. They have a new one coming end of April-- they're a band to watch. Cropping the cover here, as it's a bit morbid, fair warning. Few songs are over or even reach two minutes long. I love albums that get to the point and don't give up til the end.

Decided on what I'm buying today for Bandcamp Friday, not gonna link to all of it as most of it is gross grindcore, but I will list it: Coronary Thrombosis' 'Medical Mince' EP, Seeping Protoplasm/Nyctophagia's great split from January, and the 60-track 'Ritual Gore Worship' compilation from Good Guys Go Grind from last year.

Also, I'm grabbing Memphis, Tennessee's SQUALOR's great self-titled record from last year, which I WILL link to. Squalor makes some fantastic dungeon synth, and I think maybe someone here recommended it? It's a viiiibe

Okay, I have a killer one for this week. This just came out today, and I'll probably end up grabbing it for Bandcamp Friday. This is Bristol's BETRAYERS, and their great new EP 'Falling Through the Hourglass'. It RIPS. Kinda doomy and deathy in spots, too-- especially in the first song. Check it.

After the 2014 gig, Born with Worms Inside played one more year as a 3 piece, and a lot of stuff were written, for the first time collectively.

We are now in the process of exhuming some of these unreleased songs and reshaping it to fit what we now want to hear and play.

Meanwhile Flo and Charles started Tourbe, in more modern vibe. Check it out !

Didn't know if I'd have a ready this week but at the last minute, spotted this. This is Adrian from Stenched, another amazing project of his called IMPENDING ROT, also from Mexico (obviously) - an EP called 'Anatomical Discorporated Aberration' from 2023. This is some quality deathgrind. Maybe even more deathy than grindy. Cool riffage. You can hear some STENCHED in it.
