„Wenn’s VIVA noch geben würde, würd’ Nina bei VIVA sein“ singt Nina Chuba, und OMG: älter habe ich mich wirklich nie gefühlt 😱 Ich hab #VIVA 1993 geschaut, als es brandneu war. Als Adebisi, Makatsch und Bechtel moderierten. Und das auch nur, weil dank Papa sowohl #Astra als auch #Eutelsat zur Verfügung standen! (Kein Mensch hatte Eutelsat, ey.) Musikwünsche konnte man per #Fax senden.

Alter. Das macht mich ein bisschen fertig 🙈🤭

I said it before but it didn't make sense then, so I'll say it again: While very bad for most, losing its traditional is good long-term. It forced them to rethink and to adapt to the times.

A good example is . In a parallel world where ABS-CBN is still airing, BINI barely reached 2 years. They were dissolved and turned into actors and solo singers, some members went back to their regular lives.

Look at . Because they're still stuck in the 60s-style of management and mindset, they still cannot produce any group.

60s-style: launch an exclusive group, they can only perform in the network's shows. Once they're popular, turn them into actors and solo singers, the rest, goodbye + non-compete agreement.

VIVA Music did attempt to launch idol groups, however, during those times, the industry is still stuck at the 60s-style. To promote the groups of VIVA, they had to sign an exclusivity contract that their group will only appear exclusively in one show of the TV network, and if they become popular, they'll have guesting in other shows within the same TV network.

That's how bad the situation was.

Thus, in a parallel world where things stayed the same, BINI members became actors, and some members became just another employee trapped in the rat race.

So, GMA, when are you going to adapt to the changing times? We are still waiting for you to launch your own idol group without secretly planning to turn them into actors and solo singers later.

And to , it's time to revive your idol program. You were the first to do it, get back into the game!
