The winds calmed down, sadly my pain did not so I've made little blog progress.

But I did have about 2½hrs in #LOTRO before the game started hogging RAM again. Currently, the easiest "fix" is for me to reboot the game from scratch, so I'll have to do that for now. I can't fix an EXE taking more RAM.

I looked into RAM limiting for one process on #Linux, but it looks pretty tricky and risky, so I won't tempt Fate.

Time to head off until Monday,
Take care all,

The reason I'm cooking is because a lot of the craftable iL720 gear needs a material only available with scrips (or at a premium from other players).

So I had to stop gathering direct materials and figure out a less annoying craftable collectable. The cooking one fits that bill. So yeah. It's late now so I'm heading to sleep shortly.

I read about "cosmic tools" and it kinda sounds info-overload. So I'll craft what I can for now.

Something's been bugging my #LOTRO for a week or two. After a couple of hours playing, I get stuttering and FPS drops every split second.

After "losing" time I found it was just using more and more memory even when I was stood still in-game doing nothing. So, a memory leak (somewhere).

Being in #Linux I have to figure this out without customer services. I have a few workarounds to try, but otherwise, it's just "turn it off and turn it back on again" :bloblaugh:

Well, sleep time now.

Right, I've done all the scouting I need for this week's #FFXIV blog post, but tomorrow will be a total rest day. Aiming for some creative time with writing and pyrography.

But mostly, I'll be resting and recovering. We got wifey's submission in about 5am yesterday so I've had high pain levels today. Tomorrow is a self-care day, mostly, anyway.

Resistance is not always taking place in the public space. It isn't always loud and visible.
It's also the way you think, how you act, how you react to the acts of others, and your buying and voting behaviour.
Also, not all resistance is shared with the world.

Tell me about a kindness you saw, did or received today.

Here's mine:

There was an elderly lady coming down the stairs at my GP surgery so I waited at the bottom before heading up.
When she realised I was waiting for her, she said something about her knees, she seemed to feel she needed to justify being slow, so I just reassured her that there was no rush and she could take all the time that she needed.

Right, heading to sleep at a better time tonight. I've had a sort of "pain hangover" from yesterday's almost unbearable level.

So now I'm in (lower) pain, but drained.

I'll only be around if I'm up to it tomorrow. I have dishes to do and rooms to hoover etc.

For now, from 'Ali and I,

This is my first proper run on endgame crafting and gathering gear, where I am aiming to acquire and make everything myself.

I've almost got the basic L100 craftable set done (iL690) and I added scrip hatchet and pickaxe today. I even did the annoying Ephemeral Nodes for Aethersand so I have enough for iL700 craftable gear and crafting off-hands.

But it's relaxing and you see different zones. So it's repetitive, but doesn't feel like grinding.

Managed to do a bit of Spring Festival on my second favourite #LOTRO female character, my wee River Hobbit.

I don't need many things from it, and I'm not short of Figments of Splendour so I'm just doing the event for fun when I feel like it.

Which, to be honest, is what #gaming should be, yes? Even dailies/repetitive content/gearing progression. You can "grind" slower and enjoy it more, I reckon.

I hurt too much for alt text, sorry.

But I did some Spring Festival in #LOTRO and started my L100 crafting/gathering gearing properly in #FFXIV tonight.

I think a lot of my FF14 time will be crafting and gathering for a bit. It's relaxing, and I like the gradual progression.

I'm not going to get on the conveyer belt speed of the latest stuff, but actually take my time to do aspects I usually skip.

Anyway, I need sleep.
