Most TCGs have some "grouping" of cards, seperating gameplay styles (think colors in Magic, or classes in many digital games)
I'm experimenting with an "Affinity" system to handle that in my game:
If your character is bad at the type of magic your card represents, it becomes more expensive. Here, the character played excels at Element-based Magic, so this Physics-based spell is difficult and therefore incurs a +2 cost penalty #madewithgodot #screenshotsaturday #indiedev #cardgames

Also, the amount of healing cards is insane at this point. One guy healed his active card for 130 HP with just cards. It’s insanely broken, and forces everyone to take the same ~3 strategies.
PTCG Pocket has no idea how to make matchmaking fair or fun.
It’s just fighting the same 3 ultra-sweaty decks over and over.
Why not allow us to filter for different types of matches? Search by type, exclude EX cards, etc?

Over the last week I have been writing rules/gameplay for a card game. Hoping to have the time to test the gameplay this weekend. If it plays as intended I'll post the game rules. It's a two player, 54 card, Bridge variant that has elements of Memory Bridge and German Whist.
