The Indian Arm Fjord/Inlet, viewed from either the 6th or 7th viewpoint from Diez Vistas ridge, exactly between two downpours. This deep fjord used to be covered by a glacier that crested all but the highest peaks (now 1700m+) of the Northern Coast Mountains. Remnants of one raincloud linger in the trees below. Altitude is ~ 400m above sealevel, the furthest mountains in the photo are ~ 20km away. While I took this, a grouse was making spooky deep sounds, and a Douglas Squirrel was doing the same but then high pitched. Postprocessed with Darktable, but still very new at it, so any mistakes are mine, not Darktable's. Challenging to take good captures in this low light, my eyes are fine with it, but cameras are finicky.

Norway's Hardangerfjord has not disappointed as a replacement for the Haugesund stop we were due. Glaciers and waterfalls, churches, snow-topped mountains. The fjords are always fabulous.

View from a cruise ship in a fjord. Blue sky gives way to a pale, distant, rocky mountain with snow and ice along its peaks. Closer, a nearly sheer wall of rock in dark shadow and with plenty of tall trees forms a border with the flat blue water of the fjord. It feels cool and quite humbling.

View from our cabin right now. We're cruising up the Hardangerfjord and will get as far as the Furebergsfossen waterfall before heading back and towards Bergen for tomorrow. The distant mountains are part of the Folgefonna glacier.

Choppy, deep blue water leads to several layers of land beyond one another, parts of rocky and tree-filled areas along this wide fjord. Small houses of a village nestle to the right in the distance. The furthest land under this cold, piercing blue sky is a jagged mountain range with deep masses of snow and ice on its peaks.

I frequently go bathing in the fjord with a great friend and neighbour in both summer and through winter, and i love it

Une ancienne croix trilobée métallique penchée sur la droite. Sous cette tombe repose une femme, Olof Jonsdottir, née en 1790 et décédée en 1854. À cette époque, le pays devait compter environ 80.000 habitants. Il y a donc quelque chose d'historique à trouver une telle sépulture , qui plus est en pleine nature.

Au fond, le massif montagneux enneigé du Hafnarfjall au pied duquel se trouve Borgarnes. Entre la croix et l'arrière plan, une partie du Borgarfjorður partiellement gelé. Le ciel est totalement dégagé.
