@BaltschunJoerg das ist nicht ganz korrekt. auch #freesoftware kann verkauft werden, und #closedsource kostenlos sein. #publicdomain hat erstmal nichts mit einem Preis zu tun und kann auch verkauft werden; ihre kommerzielle Verwendung kann meines Wissens nicht mal verboten werden, da sie niemandem (mehr) gehört.
Also: open source heißt nur, dass man den Quelltext sehen darf; frei, auch verändern und weiterverbreiten (auch gegen Geld).

@fsfe are you in touch with the EU regarding the digital wallet (https://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/en/press-room/20240223IPR18095/meps-back-plans-for-an-eu-wide-digital-wallet) already? This will/can e.g. be used for the driver license in the future?
I skimmed through the documents and didn't read anything on OpenSource/ #FreeSoftware there. Would be great if we could ensure first class support for #LinuxMobile. Is that on your list? Otherwise I could at least write the contact address there.

Remember - the rest of the #OpenStreetMap #FreeSoftware ecosystem is still on #GitHub. The OSM website, the iD editor, @osmandapp, @vespucci_editor, @everydoor, @osmapp...despite offers to help with the move.
I know the devs to be otherwise very friendly and supportive people, but on this issue we are at an impasse.
Why do they wait to be abused by #proprietary platforms when they could avoid the whole problem from the start?
