managed to beat death tonight at level 18 in #castlevania aria of sorrow. I used the gram as my weapon, the tiny demon soul with buer for the first phase. then I used the creaking skull and winged skeleton souls for phase two. I cheesed it hard with rewinds and save states and I'm not ashamed because I'm bad at video games.
tomorrow I'll figure out where the claimh solais is. I have an idea but haven't read enough spoilers to know its exact location.

well in aria of sorrow i'm level 18 and i ended up fumbling my way to the top of the clock tower and i fear i'm stuck with death. can't decide if i want to slog through that fight or try to backtrack. sadly i don't have the necessary powers to get to the teleport point here (yes i cheated and looked it up because i was indecisive).
i've probably wasted my money in hammer's shop but i got rid of that stupid stinky lance and picked up the partizan and ran it for a little while. before i saved today i bought the gram and finally sold my whipsword 
got about 44% of the map discovered in aria of sorrow. trying to figure out how to get into the clock tower.
