I have a question for you, as we approach #F1 #JapaneseGP - would #RedBullRacing have stood a better chance of getting Max his Drivers Championship this year, if they had swapped out both Max and Liam to the Racing Bulls cars?

My hypothesis is that, if the cars are slower but more driveable, would Max have stood a much better chance of consistent results in the Racing Bull?

The bit after this is worth reading too… 🫣 👍

“Lawson clearly has the sympathy of Verstappen, who told reporters "it was not a mistake" that he had liked a social media post criticising the swap decision as "panicky".
"My reaction was shared with the team. But in general, you know about, not only the swap, I think about everything," the Dutchman said on Thursday.
"Sometimes it's not necessary to always share and say everything in public."

Lawson said the prospect of returning one day to Red Bull was "part of the conversation" when he got the news.”

Very Max-like in his last comment there.

RNZ · Liam Lawson laments missed opportunity on favoured F1 trackBy RNZ News

“Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has set Yuki Tsunoda one simple target - get as "close as possible" to Max Verstappen.“

Let’s hope “as close as possible” is 3 seconds behind Max, but the tail end of the field may also be as close as possible? And sorry, but I don’t, for a second, think there is any world in which Yuki is permitted to take points off Max. It just is so unlikely after this start to the season as to be incomprehensible. Maybe if they are both out of the points, or Max has a rare DNF, Yuki may be allowed to finish ahead. I wonder how big a dent this is likely to make?

Here’s a thought Horner: Maybe you should have promoted Yuki at the end of the 2024 season instead of ignoring him.

Perhaps, work with me here, you could have protected and developed Liam by leaving him in the junior team for longer instead of promoting him into a car that’s undriveable.

Red Bull just made it official. Yuki will be in the Red Bull seat starting with the Japan GP. Liam will return to Racing Bulls after just two race weekends.

Red Bull management ineptitude is on full display.

I wonder how long they are going to give Yuki, a driver they actively avoided giving this seat to last year, before they swap him for Hadjar.
