Just finished the last book of #TheExpanse. It can’t be over? I am more than a little sad now.
You know, I hate Pet Sematary and all of that, but theres a #theExpanse plotline in Strange Dogs that hits all the same notes and I kinda love it. It builds up so much in the books. Sometimes in the TV show because they only do the Pet Sematary plot it feels like a relief because in the books its actually so much worse. @bookstodon #amReading #Expanse
Prime Video removes #TheExpanse but adds The Apprentice....
f.. no.
Started rewatching #TheExpanse a couple days ago. I had forgotten that Shohreh Aghdashloo’s voice is a full three octaves lower than mine.
You know in #TheExpanse, how come James has about twenty mums and twenty dads or something, but he looks a bit dopey and not like Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Who in Canada that isn't Amazon sells The Expanse on DVD or BluRay? Full series set preferred.
#theExpanse S1 and S2 now no longer available on #primevideo due to expired rights.
Had to print some business cards at work today for a company called PDC Systems, and of course you know where my mind went #TheExpanse (And no, as far as I know, they do not manufacture point defense cannons
)
I know I said that I was going to rewatch #TheExpanse. Wound up rewatching the #LostInSpace reboot instead. It’s just as good though, right?
That’s the thing about autocracy. It looks pretty decent while it still looks pretty decent. Survivable, anyway. And it keeps looking like that right up until it doesn't. That’s how you find out it's too late.
Naomi Nagata (quoting James Holden). Tiamat's wrath, ch. 8.
"In a fight like this, unless you're willing to lose everything to win, you lose it all by losing."
Bobbie Draper. Tiamat's wrath, ch. 3.
"We were never your enemy"
“If you cooperate with the high consul, you will be treated well,” Singh said. “We are an honorable people. No matter what you think, we were never your enemy.”
Holden’s smile was weary. “Okay.” That’s bullshit, but I’m too tired to fight about it.
Persepolis Rising, ch. 41.
Watching The Expanse for the first time. 4 seasons in. It's not great but it is good, and sometimes very good. Far better than Battlestar Galactica, which I found mystifyingly well received; not in the same class as Babylon 5 – but then, what is.
The shuttle had been a great big hunk of metal when the point defense cannons hit it. Now it was almost certainly a great number of relatively small pieces of metal with pretty close to the same mass moving at very nearly the same speed. They just traded being hit with a shuttle-sized slug for being hit with a shuttle’s mass of shrapnel.
Naomi pressed her hand to her lips. “How long before —”
Probably a controversial take, but imo #severance has jumped the shark in S2. Just over+over adding storylines without resolving earlier ones. But #thexpanse + #forallmankind keep me enthralled even with some of the clunky stuff in #theexpanse (Belter crowds always look fake; James’s wooden acting)+some of the far fetched stuff in #forallmankind (Margo+Sergei will they won’t they; the cleanliness of those lived in space stations). These end times have great TV, for now. I’m ill+watch a lot.
I'm on a #TheExpanse rewatch and I still can't decide on my favorite duo of the show.
It's a hard race between either Dummer and Ashford ... or Avasarala and Bobbie.
Both duos are fantastic and have their moments of brilliant banter.
Also, even on their own, both Camina Drummer and Chrisjen Avasarala are awesome characters.
Really hard to decide.
