Science is more than a body of knowledge, it's a way of thinking, a way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding of human fallibility. If we are not able to ask skeptical questions, to interrogate those who tell us something is true, to be skeptical of those in authority, then we're up for grabs for the next charlatan — political or religious — who comes ambling along. The people have to be educated, and they have to practice their skepticism and their education otherwise we don't run the government, the government runs us.

Deep in the heart of #crete where myth intertwines with natural wonder, stands the legendary olive tree of Vouves.
Olive trees have long been revered not only for their fruit and oil but also for the resilience encoded in their DNA. These trees symbolize #endurance #wisdom and #continuity In a landscape where nature’s secrets are often obscured by time, the olive tree of Vouves reminds us that #life can sometimes persist against all odds.

@futurebird @mansr #Proverbs 6:7 starts an excellant rumination on ants, but I can't find the bit where they chat back. And the Proverbs of Solomon are one of the Jewish texts in the Christian Bible, accepted by all churches. Are you thinking of the #Wisdom of Solomon, which some protestants reject?

Somewhat relatedly, everyone should read #Kipling's "The Butterfly That Stamped", one of the Just So Stories.

I actually wound up liking "The Woman King" as a movie way, WAY better than 300.

It is beautiful cinematically, it touches on some things and addresses some things that are good…

But please don't get it twisted, because that was NOT a historical movie. ^^;;; We know that.

The sunrises were beautiful, but I do not perceive it as a society that I wish to return to. ➡️

A quotation from Chamfort

There are more fools than wise men, and even in the wise there is more folly than wisdom.

[Il y a plus de fous que de sages, et dans le sage même, il y a plus de folie que de sagesse.]
