At the end of the evening tour, we went to the best viewpoint on the rocks to watch the sun setting behind the mountain range of Pindos or according to Greek mythology, we saw the god Helios on his fiery chariot taking his horses to rest.

At the end of the evening tour, we went to the best viewpoint on the rocks to watch the sun setting behind the mountain range of Pindos or according to Greek mythology, we saw the god Helios on his fiery chariot taking his horses to rest. My shots of the evening of changing light painting the landscape in shifting hues of rose and orange sunset at Meteora was a once-in-a-life-time experience.
A perfect end of the day with a stunning sunset at Psaropetra sunset view point in Meteora.

The Roussanou Monastery, perched on one of the stunning rock pillars of Meteora in Greece, is a breathtaking testament to the harmonious blend of natural beauty and human ingenuity. Established in the 16th century and dedicated to Saint Barbara, this monastery is one of the six active monasteries in the Meteora complex. Its strategic position atop a narrow rock pinnacle offers not only a serene retreat for its nuns but also panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, filled with rugged cliffs and verdant valleys.

Iron ore from the “Briloner Eisenberg” was smelted at the Olsberger Hütte as early as the 15th century.

At this time, the original parish, the church and the monastery on the Borberg no longer had any sacred significance.

Aquesta imatge mostra el claustre d'un antic monestir, probablement a Catalunya, atesa l'arquitectura i l'estil. El claustre està envoltat d'arcs de pedra i de galeries, que s'estenen al llarg dels quatre costats d'un pati central.
