I read the letters column in the Denver Post until the "secure connection failed." Some of the letter writers were bewildered that Donald Trump had trashed Aurora with misinformation that went nationwide and stained the city's reputation for years to come for no reason other than his own personal political gain.

These days, Is Donald Trump lying (of course he is) or confabulating? Confabulation is a term referring to making up details of stories without realizing one is doing it. Strictly speaking, it is not lying, even though what the person is saying is not true. Confabulation results from brain damage. It is usually associated with brain damage from alcoholism, but alcoholism is not the only cause. As a matter strictly of my own personal opinion and from my experience of following the 2024 presidential campaign, I think Donald Trump is confabulating. If this is so - keep in mind that Trump has not been forthcoming with his medical information as Kamala Harris has - then every voter ought to be tremendously concerned about the possibility of electing a candidate who may be brain damaged.

Polls say the race for president is close. Donald Trump's daily actions say otherwise. Lying about people in American towns and cities and stirring hatred are all he's got.

Meanwhile, most "Republican" politicians would rather lose the coming election than face the hatred of MAGAmaniacs. Trump defies the principles of Abraham Lincoln and he defies the teachings of Jesus and "Republicans" just look the other way.

Hatred has become what the "Republican" Party is all about.

Multiple published reports say Kamala Harris has raised over a billion dollars since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee: more than Donald Trump has raised all year so far.

Right wing donors may have noticed that Trump lost the 2018, 2020, and 2022 elections and got severely scorched in his debate with Harris. It is hard to imagine people with money lining up to throw it at the Trump campaign.

My own experience is that there has been very little coverage of Trump's vanishing act. Kamala Harris will make statements and JD Vance issues the Sociopath and Sociopath team's responses. Trump is turning down appearances except with right-leaning interviewers and outlets.

Trump's chronological age is not exactly the issue. It seems to me evidence shows very clearly that Trump's brain is aging faster than he is. It appears that he may have particular trouble handling unexpected questions. Anyone, except for an extreme partisan, who hears his disorganized thinking when asked about childcare policy ought to wonder whether anyone so mentally scattered, regardless of political view, can be trusted as president, commander in chief, and leader of the Western world. My personal opinion is that Donald Trump's brain is timing out.

How there can be so very many examples of Donald Plump slipping into Village Idiot 45 mode, quite publicly, and the press keeps reporting on him as though this is normal behavior on a presidential campaign level is beyond me. He is a crazy old man in rapidly increasing need of retirement or being put into a home.

The "October Surprise" may be Donald Trump's mental crumbling.

It seems so perfectly clear to me Donald Trump is a major headcase that it is hard to imagine how so many people don't see it. These days, for the most part he is only able to mentally focus on those things that are endlessly rehearsed or scripted. It seems highly likely that his total inability to handle an apparently unexpected question about child care policy may be diagnostic regarding his fracturing mind. He is 78 years old. Oftentimes and increasingly, he cannot follow a simple train of thought. It has gotten to be hard to tell the difference between his lying and his cluelessness. A slight majority of Americans think he is too old to be president. Both his parents died of Alzheimer's disease. Though it is currently thought that Alzheimer's is not hereditary, all these things, taken together, strike me as an extremely worrisome combination. One might wonder whether Section 4 of the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution can be applied to a former president or a presidential candidate.

Choosing top news stories and writing headlines are among the more curious arts. The Google News Top Story right now - the most important thing going on in the known universe - is Donald Trump returning to the scene of one of the assassination attempts with Elon Musk in tow. Not much has actually happened to this point. Meanwhile, in Michigan, Kamala Harris met with angry Arab-Americans. To my way of thinking, that is a huge news story and it is about things that actually have happened. So, I just ran text searches of Google News's current post on arab, gaza, kamala, michigan, muslim, and variants on the name, Palestine/Palestinians. Nothing. No hits at all. The one hit on the name, Harris, was a fact check of the conspiracy theory that Biden-HARRIS spending on migrants drained FEMA resources for hurricane relief. Guess we'd better get to the bottom of that and the heck with Gaza.

According to CBS Radio News at 7 a.m. ET, we won the debate and they won the debate. CBS's poll showed that Vance's approval rating improved slightly more than Walz's. Balanced reporting. It seemed to be totally incidental, if that, that Vance's favorability improved to 49%, while Walz's improved to 60%. Questionable reporting.

Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of Abraham Lincoln, said her husband was monomaniacal about honesty: - the exact opposite of Donald Trump and JD Vance. A thing not included in this video is that Trump and Vance lied with MALICE about people in Springfield, Ohio, for their own political gain. JD Vance's remarks, in the interview referenced here, about women staying in abusive, violent relationships really is sick. It is hard to imagine anyone who could say such things being a heartbeat away from the presidency. There is no need to elect two sickos - Trump and Vance - to the White House.
