I'm looking forward with some trepidation to Amazon Prime's new series starting to air in December . Although I usually watch , I'm a big fan of & I've read all her mysteries. Inspector Gamache is such an interesting character & it's nice to read a with a setting. I hope it will be well written, a friend warned me about a previous adaptation. Bad can ruin a show even with good actors.) Apparently it's the same production company as The Crown and is the lead. (He's British so probably hopefully he'll do a convincing Quebecois accent.) The rest of the cast seem to be Canadian (English, French and indigenous - the only other cast member I recognize is . )

My husband & I have just finished watching the first series of , an older from a few years ago. It has a bit of a different feel to it as it's set in a department store rather than a stately home, police station, courtroom or a quiet village. We're alternating it with series 2 of , a seminal Swedish/Danish dark . (The streaming service that carries it locally only allow 8 episodes per month (it has 10 episodes) so we have to watch at the end of one month & start of another.)
