"The Trump administration’s crackdown on DEI programs could exacerbate an unexpectedly steep drop in diversity among medical school students, even in states like California, where public universities have been navigating bans on affirmative action for decades. Education and health experts warn that, ultimately, this could harm patient care."

So my wife used up the balance on a medical expense. Then a couple days later when I went on the #healthequity website to close the account, I noticed another fee applied! After another couple hours yesterday on the phone with a supervisor, I again got the fee refunded and initiated the account closure. I hope this is the last of my troubles with them, tho of course I'll be checking that this get closed out as expected.

This a year ago and after a couple hours on the phone, I got the fees refunded and was told I was put on a plan that didn't have the fees. Then last month, I noticed the fees returned starting in Dec. After another couple hours on the phone with #healthequity supervisor, I again got the fees refunded and was again assured that I was on a plan that should no longer have the fees. But with my trust eroded, we planned to use up the balance and close the account.

My #healthsavingsaccount story dealing with #healthequity screwing me repeatedly with "admin fees":
A few months after leaving my prior employer, I noticed unexpected $3.95 admin fees starting to show up on my HSA, apparently as I was to learn because the balance had slipped below their $2.5K minimum that now applied because I was no longer on a corporate backed plan. No notice was given to me of the plan change, minimum balance reqt, or balance falling below this.

In a statement, #LeeZeldin suggested that #EnvironmentalJustice — which the #EPA defined in 2013 as “the fair treatment & meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income” w/respect to #EnvironmentalLaw — was tantamount to discrimination. [BS]
“President Trump was elected with a mandate from the American people,” [wrong] Zeldin said. “Part of this mandate includes the elimination of *forced* discrimination programs.”
“If anybody needed a clearer sign that this administration gives not a single damn for the people of the #UnitedStates, this is it,” Matthew Tejada, a fmr #EPA ofcl who is now a snr VP for #EnvironmentalHealth at the Natural Resources Defense Fund, a nonprofit.
Molly Vaseliou, an EPA spox, described the moves as *organizational improvements* that align w/ #Trump’s orders to end *wasteful* spending & #diversity, #equity & #inclusion programs.

#LeeZeldin’s move effectively ends 3 decades of work at the #EPA to try to ease the #pollution that burdens #poor & #minority communities, which are frequently located near #highways, #PowerPlants, #industrial plants & other polluting facilities. Studies have shown that people who live in those #communities have higher rates of #asthma, #HeartDisease & other #health problems, compared w/the national average.
