There is a video of me :) (If you looked - Hi!) crafting a #sheath for a #chefs #knife .

So most of my #crafts are of course much simpler looking than my introduction lets to believe.
But that really only seems so as there are many things that are not obvious when looking upon an item.

In addition to interesting #caveats one might endure while #crafting , you may also get an earful of #estonian #language .
It is said that this is as good as listening to #Elvish . There are English subs!

Here's a bit of how I #work .

I make my patterns myself - the ones I use to cut out pieces for #leather #goods and the ones I use for a #handcarved #decoration .

Two of these #leather #belts are decorated by a pattern that are inspired by #Estonian #folkart .

The other two are decorated by a sort of pattern that makes them #unique as they're cut onto the leather without any prepared drawing.

So as there is no #written #proof of the making process - are they #real or are they #myth ?

My better half wants to read #KALEVIPUEG again.

Based on #Estonian #legends.

#Kalevipoeg, a giant, travels to #Finland in search of his kidnapped mother.

On returning to #Estonia Kalevipoeg becomes king after defeating his brothers in a stone hurling competition.

He constructs towns & forts & tills the land in Estonia.

Kalevipoeg then journeys to the ends of the earth to expand his knowledge. He defeats #Satan in a trial of strength & rescues 3 maidens from hell.

Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia agreed on Friday to set up a common Baltic defense zone on their borders with and amid growing security concerns.

The defense ministers of the three Baltic countries met on Friday in Riga to approve the construction of 🔸"anti-mobility defensive installations" 🔸on their eastern frontiers.
They also agreed to develop
🔸missile-artillery cooperation. 🔸

Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur stressed the need for bunkers at the border, saying: “Russia's war in Ukraine has shown that in addition to equipment, ammunition and manpower, we also need physical defensive structures at the border from the first meter to protect Estonia."

Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas underlined the ongoing collaboration with the U.S. in developing rocket capabilities, a crucial aspect of their defense strategy.

Defense Minister Andris Sprūds highlighted the completion of Latvia’s military anti-mobility plan, set to be presented to the government at the end of January, involving various short- and long-term border strengthening measures.

Additionally, a cooperation agreement was signed between and for conducting air policing from Latvia’s Lielvarde Air Base, compensating for the temporary unavailability of Estonia's Ämari Air Base due to repairs.

The ministers’ meeting followed stark warnings from European leaders. Defense Minister Boris Pistorius suggested in an interview with Tagesspiegel published Friday that a Russian attack on NATO could occur within five to eight years.
