After asking for help this morning and getting several answers, I discovered today:
- @Fairphone the name says it all, and they support alternative mobile OS with instructions on their own website.
- @murena really nice to see folks shipping a phone with /e/OS (@e_mydata), a fully "deGoogled" mobile ecosystem.
- @GrapheneOS really interesting alternative OS for several Google phones.
- backmarket.com useful not only for refurbished phones, but also for other electronic devices.

Not to mention the help I've got on specific questions from people I don't know.

The Fediverse rocks!

backmarket.comRefurbished tech that's better for the planet | Back MarketFind the best deals on refurbished phones, laptops, and tech at Back Market. Up to 70% off when compared to new products. Free delivery, 1-year warranty, 30-day money back guarantee.

Although expensive to what I always paid for a mobile, the Fairphone seems an interesting option, mainly because of the *fair* part. If it is really a fairer phone, it has a cost.

Now deciding between the original Fairphone (@Fairphone), possibly 5, but still considering the 4, or the one with Murena (@murena), €50+ in this case.

P. S. I went for a Fairphone 5. I hope it can arrive next week before my vacation.

I like e/OS ( #eOS , aka #Murena ) , it's a whole google-free alternate-Android ecosystem. They sell several nice phones with their OS preinstalled, also have builds of their OS ready to install on ~200-ish other models, with instructions on how to do that.

@forteller @ueeu @DresdnerForschungswerk @murena @Fairphone Thanks! Yes, I've looked at #fairphone and #murena . Nice to see that there are options. Running android (I see fairphones can come with it preinstalled) would not be an option, but /e/OS looks interesting. How does it hold up #privacy wise compared to e.g. #GrapheneOS , #calyxos or #LineageOS ? Haven't tried any of those, just read about them. I see very polarised opinions when I search. Little balanced comparison. A plus that you can get a fairphone with /e/OS preinstalled, of course (It's me. I'm "moderately- or non-technical people").

Hallo Daniel,
