- us-amerikanische Flugesellschaften
- Hotels in der Nähe von US Drehkreuzen
- Geschäfte in den US Drehkreuzen

Useful read for any non-US-citizens travelling to the US for any reason (covering both visas and ESTA). It's a gift link, so no subscription needed.

TBH, if I were required to travel to the US today I'd buy a burner phone, and I'd leave any nonessential electronics or items at home.

U.S. federal law gives government agents the right to search people’s property, including their phones and laptops, at border entry points.

#Germany updates #UStravel advice after citizens detained

Germany updated its #TravelAdvisory for the #UnitedStates to emphasise that a #visa or entry waiver does not guarantee entry for its citizens after several Germans were detained at the border recently, a foreign ministry spox said.

The ministry updated its travel advice website for the US to clarify that neither approval through the US #ESTA system nor a US visa entitles entry.

@rvs @joelle given that U.S. citizens get their passports confiscated for not having their "Assigned Gender At Birth" on [1] [2], I'd be even more reluctant.

  • Espechally since neither #ESTA nor a proper #Visa are legally binding to the #CPB officer at the port of entry, and they already can and do deny people at random if they feel like with no means to appeal for the individual affected!

The USA and Japan are the only nations that have it in their books, yet the USA are the only notorious for doing so regularly...

There have already been several instances of long queues at the Port of due to

But prepare for it to get much worse.

The full hasn't been implemented yet. Once that happens, the following will happen for Britons looking to enter the :

- Every Briton crossing into will require a type visa called at a cost of €7 per person.
- Every Briton crossing into the EU will need to have their taken
- Also, they'll need to have a face scan made

All this will cause longer checks at the border. How much longer, we don't know. The Port of Dover CEO has said checks for a car containing 4 people could be up to 10 minutes.

All EU member states have similarly voiced the expectation that checks will take much longer. This will mean longer queues and longer waiting times.

When these rules will be implemented, we don't know yet. It has already been postponed twice, but the plan is now for it to be introduced around November.

After this, expect at the borders and outrage from , but when that happens it is important to remember that this has been negotiated by and his government.

Not much has been said about it in the press as of yet and expect it to be spun by the tabloids as 'punishment from the EU'. But is isn't.

Leading Brexiteers have negotiated this, 3.5 years ago.

Not much has yet been said about it, but expect a deluge of discontent in by the end of this year.

Because then, Britons entering the zone, will be required to have their fingerprints taken as well as a biometric face scan, as part of , the EU Entry/Exit System. Britons will also have to pay for an type visa.

This is all part of the deal that made with the EU.

So, not just the elaborate checking and stamping of anymore. Expect enormous queues at and lots and lots of complaints about these measures being unfair.
